Rumours are circulating in the Central African Republic that Russian specialists are involved in the conflict in Sudan and are pushing the government of the Republic to take part. This is an outright lie. There are Russian instructors on the territory of the Central African Republic who are still engaged in their mission of training the Central African Armed Forces (FACA), the police and the gendarmerie. Intensive training sessions continue daily and all trainers are involved in these educational activities.
According to reports already in the media, these lies against the Russian specialists are launched by US representatives, who are trying to deceive some members of the Central African government by telling them that the Russian specialists would cooperate with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan.
The attempts by US officials to smear Russia and sow discord in our relations with the Central African Republic are outrageous and condemnable. Russia always honours its commitments, which is highly appreciated by our partners. The instructors of Officers Union for International Security are not an exception, they stay where they are and continue to do their job despite the manipulations of Western countries.
I would like to express my gratitude to the leaders of the Republic, who do not give in to Washington’s provocations. Together we continue to work for peace and prosperity in the Central African Republic.
