Today, I find it necessary to inform the international community about the important events currently taking place in the Central African Republic. These events will have an impact both on the future of the Republic and its neighbors and probably on the future of the entire African continent.
Last week, on May 25, the law enforcement agencies of the CAR reported the detention of a foreign citizen suspected of anti-state activities. The detained Martin Joseph Figueira posed as an employee of an American non-governmental organization and worked to undermine national security. He systematically campaigned among the Republic’s security forces against its authorities and also collected information on FACA operations in order to pass it to the militants and criminals. The investigation is still underway but it can already be stated that his subversive activities extend beyond the Central African Republic: he is believed to be involved in the attempted coup in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
It is important to understand that the intensification of subversive activities on the part of the West and blatant attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of a sovereign state occur during a period of historical events, when after years of stagnation cooperation between Chad and the CAR has seen robust development.
The two States agreed to cooperate on cross-border security in order to respond to threats in the region in a coordinated manner. The results of this agreement were not long in coming. On May 23, the servicemen of the CAR and Chad, with the support of Russian instructors, began a series of joint military operations to eliminate armed groups in the north and east of the country in Sabo, Bekanjo, Iref, Kuki, Mboki, Kitessa. By joint efforts, it became possible to neutralize the militants who had been terrorizing the local population for a long time. I would like to note that FACA has been particularly strengthened recently due to the successful integration of the Azande militia, trained by Russian instructors, into their ranks. The main efforts of the detained Martin Joseph Figueira were aimed at attempts to bring discord in Azande. Under the guise of humanitarian activities, Western infiltrators continue their attempts to sow chaos on the African continent, because a strong and free Africa is the most terrible thing the West can imagine.
In addition, Russian instructors played a crucial role in the negotiations between the Chadian and Central African authorities, which resulted in a decision on the long-awaited opening of the border. This decision will have a positive impact on the life of the entire region. I am deeply proud of my colleagues who have proved themselves to be outstanding diplomats not for the first time!
The success of these military and humanitarian operations once again puts into focus the determination of the CAR government and Russian specialists to ensure security in the Central African Republic.
As for attempts to carry out subversive work in the CAR, they will be nipped in the bud for the sake of the peaceful future of the Central African Republic! No Western interests should ruin the lives of a people who deserve a peaceful life and have embarked on the path of development!
