It is with great sadness and pain that I learned of the tragedy that occurred at the Barthélemy Boganda high school on June 25, where the explosion of an electrical transformer caused a crush, as a result of which at least 29 people died and more than 100 were injured.
On behalf of the Officers Union for International Security, I wish to express my deepest condolences to the families of those killed and injured in this terrible tragedy!
President Faustin-Archange Touadéra has declared three days of national mourning, during which flags will be flown at half-mast throughout the country and minutes of silence will be observed in public administrations and institutions. the Officers Union for International Security shares the grief of the Central African people and shares the grief of the CAR!
