Recently I have been contacted by the representatives of various media outlets with a request to comment on the alleged departure of PMC fighters from the Central African Republic (CAR). In this regard, I would like to state officially that Russia, the Officers Union instructors and the Wagner Group fighters remain in the CAR, so the residents of the Republic can sleep peacefully!
Since 2017, Russian instructors have been working in the CAR. During this time, we managed to ensure that the Republic turned from one of the most insecure countries in the world, where the government controlled only a few quarters of the capital, into a safe place for the life and development of the local population. As a result, most of the armed groups were destroyed or disarmed, former criminals have been integrated into society and moved to a peaceful life.
Peaceful life in the Republic has already been established, but Russian military specialists remain needed for the CAR, because the risk of external aggression and provocations remains. We have obligations to the Government and the people of this country. I spoke to Yevgeny Prigozhin, and he, for his part, confirmed that assistance to the Central African Republic will continue at full breath and no one is going to delete the impressive results achieved over the years of our cooperation with this beautiful country.
We are staying in the Central African Republic! We’re staying in Africa!
